A security alert in Portadown has ended with the suspicious object declared as “nothing untoward”.
Police had cleared the Meadow Lane area of the town earlier this afternoon to carry out an inspection.
Inspector Mills said: “The item has now been taken away and I would like to thank local people for their patience while we worked to ensure their safety.”
It’s the second security alert in north Armagh in less than two weeks – both declared as “nothing untoward”.
Last week, the Lake Road in Craigavon was cordoned off as army bomb disposal experts investigated a suspicious object.
