Portadown pizzeria lodge plans to ‘slice up’ storage space for first floor restaurant

A popular Portadown pizzeria has lodged plans with council in the hopes of transforming current storage space into a new first floor restaurant for customers.

The plans relate to Pizza Pilazzo on Castle Street and have been submitted to Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council in the name of Mr Hassan Asgari.

It seeks permission for an extension, alteration and change of use within the building to provide indoor first-floor seating to supplement the ground floor restaurant and takeaway.

According to drawings, if approved, the ground floor store would be redeveloped to include a new stairwell that would be moved from it’s existing location in a courtyard closer to the rear of the building.

This new stairwell would be accessible from the current ground floor seating space and lead to the new proposed first floor indoor seating.

On the ground floor a small disabled access toilet would also be provided adjacent to the stairwell.

On the second floor, a new skylight would be introduced to illuminate the suggested stairwell.

An existing window opening would also be increased to accommodate a new access door to the flat roof on the first floor and a new courtyard-facing window would also be developed.

Plans are to be advertised shortly.
