A Portadown man has been accused of raping a woman more than 20 years ago.
Sean Murray, of Dobbin Road, appeared before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with rape and three counts of indecent assault allegedly committed against the same female complainant between January 1, 1998 and December 31, 2001.
During the brief hearing the 40-year-old confirm his name and that he understood the charges put before him.
A detective constable confirmed that he believed he could connect the Murray to the charges.
District Judge Bernie Kelly adjourned the case until January 20.
Freeing Murray on on his own bail of £500, she informed the defendant that he is not to contact the alleged victim in anyway and to have no contact or association with anyone under 16.
