Police have this morning issued an appeal for witnesses to a brutal attack which occurred in Portadown over the weekend.
Two men were assaulted in the Market Street area of the town, in the early hours of Sunday morning, by what police have described as a group of eight men.
“At approximately 2am, police received a report that two men had been assaulted by a group of around men,” a police spokesperson said.
“One man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 208 of 20/02/22.”

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 02am on Sunday morning following reports of an incident in the Church Street area.
One emergency crew was despatched to the incident and following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance.
