Plans have been lodged to bring a large empty retail unit back into productive use in Portadown town centre.
The unit – next to Sally Beauty on Meadow Lane – has lay vacant for significant period of time, ever since the departure of toy store ‘World of Wonder’ nearly 10 years ago.
The application, submitted by Mrs Sharon Farrell, is for a change of use, with ambitions to bring in an estate agency, as well as office space to the ground floor premise.
A number of jobs will be created in Portadown town centre as a result of a successful application.
Small alterations will include a new shop front, lobby and doorway, facing onto Bridge Street.
The application, advertised this week, will be considered by planners on the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, with a decision expected in due course.
