Motorists beware! Cars pelted with rocks on Northway in Portadown

PSNI anti-social youths

A number of motorists have reported having their vehicles pelted with stones and rocks in Portadown this evening (Friday).

There have been a number of complaints online of suspected youths lobbing stones at passing motorists on the Northway between the town and Craigavon.

It is understood the activity is centred around the Shillington bridge, with a taxi and a number of other cars falling foul of the vandals.

One person said: “Someone is going to end up being killed on the Northway with young ones throwing bricks at cars around Shillington bridge. One off my cars was hit, plus another one behind hit as well, so everyone just keep eye out when on Northway, it’s very dangerous.”

The incidents have been reported to police but beware if you are travelling in that direction tonight.
