A man with 164 previous convictions charged with rioting on two consecutive days in Portadown has been refused bail.
Ryan Pepper (32), of Westland Road, is charged with riotous assembly on June 12 this year.
On June 13 he is accused of riotous assembly; possessing and throwing a petrol bomb; and throwing a firework.
He appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday via video link from prison where he has been on remand.
In relation to June 12, a police officer said the defendant could be seen in a YouTube video throwing an item at police.
The defendant denied it was him.
The accused also denied the June 13 allegations.
The officer said the defendant had 164 previous convictions and has been in and out of prison over the last ten years.
District Judge Michael Ranaghan refused bail saying there was “significant and serious alleged offending on consecutive days”.
A preliminary enquiry – the legal step to send the case to the Crown Court – is due on October 17.
