Man rushed to Royal in Belfast following collision between car and lorry in Portadown

One person was rushed to hospital following a serious two vehicle collision in Portadown earlier this morning (Thursday).

The crash, involving a car and lorry, occurred on the Dobbin Road, close to the junction with Vicarage Road, shortly after 7am.

Emergency services were called to the scene, including the NI Ambulance Service (NIAS).

A spokesperson for the NIAS said: “We received the 999 call at 7.20am this morning following reports of a two vehicle RTC.

“NIAS despatched two emergency crews and one doctor to the scene.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by ambulance.”

A PSNI spokesperson said: “One man was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.”

The road has since re-opened to traffic.
