Man attacked and left unconscious in Co Armagh underpass

Incident happened in the early hours of the morning

A man was attacked and left unconscious in a county Armagh underpass last Thursday morning.

Detectives are investigating the sickening incident in Portadown and are appealing for information from the public.

Detective Inspector Lynne Knox said: “A man in his 20s was set upon by a number of unknown men in an underpass close to Kernan Road at around 2.30am on 8 June.

“Police are keen to speak to two males who were observed in the area as they may have information which would assist our enquiries.

“One male was wearing a black Nike hoody and another a multi-coloured tracksuit with fluorescent orange trainers.

“Following the attack the victim was rendered unconscious for a time.

“If anyone was in the area who may have seen something that could assist the police investigation please call Detectives in Mahon Road on 101 quoting reference number 123 08/06/17.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
