Man and woman face charges after £30,000 of cannabis found in car

Two due to appear in court on Wednesday

Two people have been charged with a range of drug-related offences after cannabis with a street value of £30,000 was found in a car in Co Armagh.

The vehicle was stopped on the Armagh Road in Portadown at around 1.30pm on Monday.

The BMW car was seized and a number of further items were recovered in follow-up searches at two houses.

On Tuesday night, police confirmed a man and woman – both aged 21 – had been charged after the seizure.

The man has been charged with possession of a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, three counts of  possession of a Class B controlled drug and two counts of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

The woman has been charged with two counts of possession of a Class B controlled drug and two of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

They are due to appeal at Craigavon Magistrates Court  on Wednesday morning.
