Man accused of attempted GBH and criminal damage to face Crown Court proceedings

Craigavon Magistrates Court

A Portadown man accused of attempted GBH and dangerous driving will face Crown Court proceedings next month.

Court heard the 52-year-old was also alleged to have damaged an iPhone and bicycle which belonged to the same person.

Joseph Alexander Donaldson, of Ardress Park, appeared charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and criminal damage at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Standing in the dock the defendant submitted to the holding of a preliminary inquiry.

Court heard that all the alleged offences dated back to September 8 of last year.

He was accused of driving dangerously on Old Rectory Road, Portadown.

The alleged criminal damage referred to an iPhone and a bicycle, which belonged to the same person whom Donaldson is accused of attempting to harm.

Prosecution stated they believed that there was a prima facie case based on the papers before the court.

Defence solicitor Joseph McDonald made no contrary remarks.

The defendant was released on bail to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on June 25 for arraignment.
