A 25-year-old man arrested following a house fire in Portadown which claimed the life a mother-of-one remains in police custody.
The man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, hours after a blaze on Church Street which claimed the life of 37-year-old Alesia Nazarova.
Almost 72 hours on from the arrest, no charges have been levelled, however, police have confirmed that the 25-year-old remains in police custody at this stage.
Forensic officers have been combing the vicinity and areas around nearby River Bann for clues in recent days.
Meanwhile, a fundraising appeal to help pay for the costs of Ms Nazarova’s funeral has raised in excess of £8,000.
Not-for-profit organisation Giving Grace in Portadown have also been well supported in their appeal for items and monetary donations for Ms Nazarova’s 12-year-old daughter, Olivia, who was pulled from the fire. She was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital and is now under the care of her aunt.
