Investigation launched after ‘disturbing video’ of assault on Co Armagh child posted online

Police have launched an investigation after a “disturbing video” of an assault on a school child was posted online.

PSNI Chief Inspector Jon Burrows confirmed the move.

He said police were aware of the video which had been circulating on social media in the last number of hours.

It shows an assault on a pupil from Brownlow Integrated College in Craigavon.

The video has since been removed from Facebook.

The child’s mother has reported it to the PSNI who have begun looking into the assault.

Chief Inspector Burrows said: “We are proactively and thoroughly investigating this matter.”

He appealed to anyone with information on the incident to contact the PSNI on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 1160.
