Horror as cat appears to have been ‘skinned’ and dumped at roadside in Portadown

Moy Road in Portadown

A cat appears to have been “skinned” and left at the roadside in Portadown.

Posting to a local online lost cats page on social media, one woman said it was “one of the most horrific things I have ever seen”.

The cat was discovered on the Moy Road area of the town on Wednesday, November 15.

The woman, taking to social media said: “I don’t really know how to address this but….someone had skinned a cat and left it on the Moy Road in Portadown. It has been professionally done; my guess would be by trapper.

“I have contacted the police to ask for advice. Please keep an eye out for any suspicious activity and keep an eye on your pets.

“This has to be one of the most horrific things I have ever seen and I am heartbroken for this little animal and it’s owners, if it had any. Not really much else to say.”

“I would address the person/people who did this but what’s the point!”

A police spokesperson told Armagh I: “Police received a report that the remains of a cat had been found in the Moy Road area of Portadown, on Wednesday, November 15.

“There was no evidence to suggest the cat had been deliberately killed, however, neighbourhood officers will give passing attention to the area.”
