A new car and van rental business is to be given the green light close to Portadown.
The development – on the Gilford Road – also includes a motor vehicle sales facility.
Proposals for the commercial outlet also include office and sales accommodation, and parking.
The site – adjacent to 66b Gilford Road, Portadown – is currently described as vacant land.
An application for the work had been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
And planning officials are now recommending that the business be allowed to proceed.
That is the opinion which will go to the next planning meeting, which is due to take place in February.
Papers submitted with the application, in the name of Banbridge-based Maxwell Properties Ltd, indicate six new jobs on site.
The car and van rental business will be surrounded by a security fence and lighting placed on six-metre high columns.
A report relating to the lighting has also been prepared on behalf of the applicant.
It reveals it is needed to illuminate the vehicles available for rent while acting as a deterrent in terms of security outside hours. It would also facilitate business during darkness hours in the winter.
The intention would be for opening six days a week, from 7am until 10pm.
The opinion to approve will go to committee, with councillors having the final say.
