Firefighters say they believe a second fire on Portadown’s Harford Street in just a matter of days to be arson.
Incidentally, the blaze occurred on the same street where a car was burnt out and a young man’s life was lost just five days ago. However, that fire was not treated as suspicious.
Emergency services attended to a second report of fire yesterday (August 13) shortly after 2.18pm.
One appliance from Portadown Fire Station attended the scene along with, appliances from Lurgan Fire Station, Banbridge Fire Station and an aerial appliance from Springfield Fire Station.
The blaze at a single-storey derelict property required the use of two hose reel jets and one jet to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate ignition and the scene was handed over to the PSNI.
Firefighters left the incident at 4.27pm.
