A 46-year-old Co Armagh man has been charged with attempting to have a ‘sexual communication’ with a child.
Lee Sheffield, with an address listed at Tandragee Road in Portadown, is alleged to have committed the offence between October 29 and November 7 in 2023, according to his charge sheet.
A prosecutor said the defendant had no record.
A defence barrister told Craigavon Magistrates’ Court it is “an agent provocateur case”.
He said it is the defendant’s “intention” to plead guilty.
The case was adjourned to February 28 when a decision is to be taken as to whether to keep the case in the Magistrates’ Court or send it to the Crown Court.
