Burglars steal car and set fire to it in overnight raid

Appeal to find anyone who saw vehicle after being stolen in Portadown

Police have appealed for help after a creeper burglary in Portadown.

Sometime during Thursday night or the early hours of Friday morning, burglars broke into a house at Ballyoran Park.

They helped themselves to the keys of a blue Volkswagen Passat, which had the registration number GJZ 7037.

The car was later found burnt out at Carrigart Crescent in Craigavon.

The PSNI in Craigavon is appealing for anyone who has any information to come forward and help find those responsible.

“Someone worked hard to pay for that car. Someone else took it from them in a few moments without a second thought,” they said.

“Without doubt the answer to this lies somewhere in the community. Have you heard since who was responsible? Did you see the Passat driving between Ballyoran and Carrigart? Did you see any suspicious activity in and around Ballyoran at any stage overnight? Did you see anyone running away from Carrigart Crescent at any stage?”

If anyone can help they can contact the PSNI in Craigavon on thw non-emergency number 101. The incident number is 101 of 19/05/17.
