Apartments block plan follows drive-thru as part of efforts to redevelop car wash site

A dozen apartments would be built at Bridge Street in Portadown if all planning consents are given

Bridge Street Portadown apartments plans

A new apartment development is on the cards for Portadown.

Proposals have been drawn up for a single block – consisting of 12 properties – at a site at Bridge Street.

An application seeking outline approval has been lodged with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

Belfast-based Hylands Developments has submitted the papers which show a mix of sized apartments.

It would be made up of nine two-bedroom units and three single bedroom apartments. There would also be parking provision included too.

The new residential development has been earmarked for the site of a local car wash at 199 Bridge Street.

It coincides with an application for outline approval for the same location by the same developer for a new drive-thru cafe.

Both will now be advertised shortly.
