Police warning for two town ‘bouncers’

TWO bouncers in Lurgan have been issued a warning after police and Security Industry Authority investigators found they were working illegally.

Checks were carried out during a crack down last month, it has been revealed.

The PSNI said 19 venues including pubs, bars and nightclubs were investigated across Lurgan, Portadown and Newry.

Around 80 security personnel were checked by the PSNI and the SIA. Five were working illegally.

In Lurgan, warnings were issued to two door supervisors for failing to notify the SIA of their change of address, which is an SIA licensing breach.

In Portadown, police are making enquiries into two unlicensed door supervisors and two security managers who employ them.

In Newry, a door supervisor was found working on an expired licence. Police are considering further action.

A further two warnings were issued to door supervisors.
