Police recover stolen vehicle in Armagh

Police in Armagh have recovered a stolen vehicle following a burglary in Callan Bank.

Constable Jay Slevin explained: “On Thursday, 4 December, between 9am and 3pm, entry was forced to a house in Callan Bank. A number of rooms were searched and a sum of cash, jewellery and a television were taken. A car at the house – a grey VW Passat – was also taken.

“On the following morning it was discovered that a second grey VW Passat had been taken from the same address. It is believed the keys to the vehicle had been taken during the burglary and the car subsequently stolen during the night.

“One of the cars was found on Friday morning in Damolly Retail Park.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to the burglary or the whereabouts of the outstanding VW Passat. We can be contacted on 101, quoting ref: 700041214.

“We are also asking the local community to look after each other and report any suspicious activity to us straight away. With the darker nights upon us, thieves will take any opportunity to commit crime. We cannot be everywhere all the time so information from you is vital. If you notice people or vehicles that look out of place or not quite right, take a note of descriptions and vehicle registrations and contact us straight away on 101 or 999 in an emergency.”

If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
