Police investigation after car damaged by fire

Police in Banbridge are investigating after a car was damaged as a result of a fire in the Poyntzpass Road area of Loughbrickland.

A grey Vauxhall Corsa was set alight at around 12.20am on August 16.

Inspector Leslie Badger said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who noticed anything in and around the area to contact Police on the 101 number, quoting reference number 4716915.

“Alternatively information about crime can be passed via the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”

Meanwhile, police are investigating an RTC and have made an appeal for witnesses.

A collision involving two HGV vehicles and a red Skoda Octavia happened at around 10.50am on August 7 on the Armagh Road at the junction of Tullyhappy Lane.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
