Police investigating Belfast burglary arrest three men in Newry

Three men have been arrested in Newry by police investigating a report of a burglary in Belfast.

The three – aged 23, 27 and 32 – were detained earlier today (Friday).

At around 12.35pm it was reported entry was gained to a property in the Strangford Avenue area of South Belfast and a sum of money was taken.

Detective Sergeant Wilson said: “Two males were later observed getting into a blue coloured Audi which was later stopped and three suspects detained in the Newry area.

“The men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and various related motor offences, with all three in custody at this time.

“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 797 27/08/21.”
