A 26-year-old man has tonight been charged with the attempted murder of two men in Newry overnight on Wednesday.
The man has also been charged with kidnapping, possession of a firearm with intent to create an indictable offence and various driving offences.
He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court this coming Monday, September 21.
As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges relate to two separate shootings of two men in the Newry area.
Two other men – aged 27 and 29 – have tonight been released on bail pending further enquiries.
