Police appeal for help after attempt to steal car parts

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the theft of parts from a car.

Constable Nicki Martin said sometime between 9am and 4pm on Monday, 22 June, the wheel trims and front bumper grille were taken from a silver Volkswagen Passat, parked in North Street car park.

It is believed an attempt was even made to remove the wheels as the wheel nuts were loosened, which could have resulted in serious injury if the car had been driven off.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information which may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 1051 220615,” said Constable Martin.
