Police appeal following scourge of telephone pole vandalism

Police in Armagh are appealing for information following an incident of criminal damage.

Constable Stephen Megarry explained: “Around 9am on Monday, 23 March, we received a report of a telegraph police cut down close to the junction of the Wilsonstown Road. We attended and found the pole blocking the road.

“There have been a number of telegraph poles in the local area cut down over the last few months. Not only is this vandalism and criminal damage but those responsible are running the risk of someone getting hurt if they run into a pole that is blocking a road.

“We would like to find those responsible and would like to hear from anyone who has information which  may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Armagh on 101.”

If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
