Police appeal as car windows smashed in three separate attacks

Police have detailed three incidents of criminal damage in recent times in which vehicles were the target.

Police in Newry appealed for information on one incident sometime between 5pm and 9.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Constable Heidi Middleton said the windscreen of a white Volkswagen Polo, parked on Drumalane Road, was smashed and added: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information in relation to it. We can be contacted in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 1139 050515.”

Police in Lurgan made a similar appeal.

Constable Mike Currie said: “Sometime between 2.30pm and 5pm on Saturday, May 2, the rear window of a red Mercedes parked on High Street was smashed.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the damage being caused or has information in relation to this incident. We can be contacted in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 907 020515.”

Police in Lurgan also appealed for witnesses after a red Seat Leon car was travelling along Brownlow Road around 10.30pm on Friday, April 14, and was struck by an object and the rear window smashed.

No one was hurt but police would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident. They can be contacted in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 1326 240415.
