Pole used to snag keys through letterbox and steal three cars

Detectives in Portadown are warning the public to store their car keys in a safe place after three vehicles were stolen during a weekend creeper burglary.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Wilson said the incident happened during the early hours of Saturday, December 20.

“Three cars were stolen from College Grange in Portadown during a creeper burglary,” he explained.

“We believe thieves used a pole with a hook to remove car keys from a hall table, through a letterbox.

“A red Volvo, blue Renault Clio and blue BMW 2 Series were taken.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this burglary or the whereabouts of these cars. We can be contacted on 101.

“We are also reminding householders to store their car keys away in a secure drawer or cupboard. If you would like further crime prevention advice you can contact your local crime prevention officer on 101.”
