Pensioner struck by car in Armagh city centre

Police in Armagh are appealing for information after a pedestrian was injured during a road traffic collision.

Around 3pm on Saturday, 1 February, a red/maroon coloured saloon type car was in collision with a 71 year old male pedestrian on Scotch Street.

The driver of the vehicle stopped the car and spoke to the pedestrian before driving off. The male driver is described as being around 30 years old with dark hair.

The pedestrian sustained injuries to his arm and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing to the driver of the car or anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them in Armagh on 0845 600 8000.

Meanwhile police are appealing for information following the theft of a plastering machine.

Some time between 6pm on Tuesday, 28 January and 7am on Saturday, 1 February, the machine was taken from a yard on Listrakelt Road, Derrynoose. ‘Lancy’ stickers have been removed from the machine.
