Pensioner cut free from car which overturned in south Armagh

Fire crews use hydraulic equipment to rescue 75-year-old from vehicle

Fire crews had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to cut a pensioner from a car in south Armagh.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a car overturned with a person inside at the Ballymoyer Weir Road at Whitecross.

The incident was reported shortly after 5pm.

Fire Service crews from Newtownhamilton and Newry rushed to the scene where cutting equipment was used to rescue the 75-year-old from the car.

They then administered oxygen thereapy at the scene before the pensioner was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
