Off duty firefighter rescues woman after Boxing Day blaze

An off duty firefighter raised the alarm and rescued a woman from her Newry home after a Boxing Day blaze.

The fire broke out on Friday afternoon at a semi-detached house in the city.

The off duty firefighter led the woman to safety.

Oxygen was administered to the 52-year-old after the incident, which happened at a property on the Ardmore Road.
