Three people have died in Co Fermanagh house fire

Three people have died in a house fire in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh, this morning.

Police confirmed the tragic news after emergency services were rushed to the house shortly after 7am.

Police, fire and ambulance crews are still at the scene with the cause of the blaze currently being investigated

People have been told to avoid Molly Road and the surrounding area.

Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy said: “Sadly we can confirm that three people have lost their lives in this fire.

“Emergency services remain at the scene and are carrying out an extensive examination of the property to establish the cause of the blaze and determine if any other persons have been involved.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen anything that could assist the officers investigating this incident to please get in touch by calling 101.”

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 7.14am this morning (27 Feb) to a house fire in Doon Road, Derrylin, Co Fermanagh. Firefighters dealt with a well-developed fire in a detached bungalow. Three Fire Appliances attended the incident. The fire is now extinguished and NIFRS remains at the scene.
