Three further Covid-related deaths reported with 47 patients in intensive care across NI hospitals

There are 392 people now in hospital as a result of the virus, 47 of whom are in intensive care units

There were three further Covid-related deaths reported by the Department of Health today (Saturday).

Today’s stats – according to the official dashboard – take in the last 24 hours with two of the three passing away inside that period.

The overall total number of deaths recorded by the Department now stands at 2,029.

Of those deaths, the ABC Borough accounts for 266 Newry, Mourne and Down District 157; and Mid-Ulster with 188.

There were a further 276 positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, with 71 in  Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon – the second highest in NI. There was a further 12 in Newry, Mourne and Down and 41 in Mid-Ulster.

A total of 1,696 individuals were tested.

There are currently 40 ICU beds available in Northern Ireland.

A total of 129 Covid patients are currently in hospitals in the Southern Trust area – three less than on Friday – with 79 in Craigavon; 15 in Daisy Hill, 34 in Lurgan and none in South Tyrone.
