Woman taken to hospital with broken leg after A1 crash involving lorry

Police are investigating a road traffic collision on the A1 northbound carriageway between Newry and Loughbrickland on Sunday 19th December.

The collision, involving a lorry and a black BMW X5, occurred at the junction with Carrick Road at around 3.40pm on Sunday afternoon.

A female passenger in the BMW sustained a suspected broken leg as a result of the collision and was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed following the collision and re-opened at around 6.45pm.

Officers investigating the collision are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any dash-cam footage which could assist them with their enquiries to contact police at Lurgan on 101 quoting reference number 1402 19/12/21.
