A second man arrested in relation to an assault and attempted hijacking outside Daisy Hill Hospital has been released.
Detectives investigating the incident whereby a doctor was attacked in hospital grounds have released the 30-year-old pending further enquiries.
However, he has been since been charged with unrelated offences of burglary, attempted burglary with intent to steal, attempted theft of a vehicle, tampering with a motor vehicle and criminal damage.
These offences relate to reports of a burglary in the Newry area on January 29.
He is due to appear via videolink at Banbridge Magistrates’ Court sitting in Newry later today (Thursday).
As is usual procedure, all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
