Police received a report that a woman had her purse stolen by a man in Newry today, Friday May 17.
The woman reported that she was at public seating in the Hill Street area of the city at around 10.10am when the man, described as being fair haired and aged in his late 30s, stole her purse and ran off.
It is believed that he was wearing navy shorts and a navy jacket with a blue and white stripe on the front, along with dark trainers.
Enquiries are ongoing and police would appeal to anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 717 of 17/05/24.
