Police in Newry have arrested two people following an assault at a shop on the Belfast Road in the early hours of Sunday, June 7.
Officers received a report of an assault shortly after midnight and attended the scene, where a number of enquiries were carried out.
A 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident.
The woman has since been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 1.
The man has been charged with a number of offences, including grievous bodily harm with intent and disorderly behaviour. He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 9.
Police have not released any further details at this stage.
