Police appeal after youths smash shop windows on Armagh Road

Incident happened last Saturday afternoon

A group of youths were seen smashing a number of windows of a shop on the Armagh Road in Newry.

Police are appealing for information following the report of criminal damage that was caused to a commercial premises.

Constable Coombs said : “It was reported that at approximately 3.30pm on Saturday 1st July , a number of windows belonging to a commercial premises on the Armagh Road in the Newry area were smashed by a group of youths.

“We are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed the incident or may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Newtownhamilton Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 281 of the 03/07/17.

“Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
