Police appeal after Newry hit-and-run caused ‘substantial damage’ to car

Police have launched an appeal for information after a hit-and-run in Newry left a vehicle with “substantial damage”.

The road-traffic-collision occurred at the traffic lights at the junction between Kilmorey Street and William Street, between a silver Hyundai Tucson and another small red car.

The incident, which took place at 15:25 on Thursday August 17, resulted in “substantial damage” to the Hyundai, with the red car having reportedly driven off.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “If you were the driver of the red car or have dash cam footage/witnessed this collision please contact 101 quoting reference 1608 of 17/08/23.”
