People treated at scene as road re-opens following four-vehicle RTC

A number of people were treated for minor injuries following an RTC is south Armagh earlier today (Sunday).

Four cars were involved in the incident on the Forkhill Road, in Killeavy.

The incident, which happened around 10am near Mulkerns Eurospar, saw the road closed for a number of hours before eventually re-opening shortly before 5pm.

It is understood the fire service had to deploy cutting equipment to remove some of those involved but nobody required hospital treatment.

Constable McKevitt said: “Emergency services attended the scene and a number of people received medical treatment.

“Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident shortly before 10am to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 382 of 26/3/17.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
