Newry man’s anger after tea-time theft of £25,000 car from outside his home

CCTV showed the car was stolen at 5.48pm on Friday

A Newry man has been left devastated after the theft of a prestige car worth £25,000.

And Chrisy Murtagh is asking anyone with any information to come forward.

The blue Golf R-type vehicle was stolen from outside a house on Carnbane Gardens, Newry.

The vehicle had the registration number KNZ 8 when it was stolen.

Chrisy – who branded the thieves “scumbags” – said CCTV showed the car was stolen at 5.48pm on Friday evening.

He said the footage showed a “silver or gold coloured Toyota Avensis was involved”.

Anyone who has any information on the theft or knows the whereabouts of the vehicle now can contact the PSNI in Newry on the non-emergency number 101 or comment below.

Information can also be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
