An Armagh-based social enterprise is set to see yet another ‘incredABLE’ expansion of their services as they secure their fourth café site!
incredAble – a non-profit organisation working to promote meaningful opportunity for people with a learning/intellectual disability and/or autism – will be opening their new social enterprise café at Newry Leisure Centre this week.
Opening their kitchen to the public on Friday, August 1, Cafe incredABLE @ Newry Leisure Centre will begin service with a phased approach.
They will be providing a delicious selection of light bites, freshly brewed tea and coffee, tempting traybakes and scones baked fresh every morning.
The above offerings will be available seven days a week with a hot food menu to be introduced at a later date.
Operating as a social enterprise, Cafe incredABLE @ Newry Leisure Centre will facilitate training in catering and hospitality for those living with intellectual/learning disability and autism, which means every time you make a purchase at their new café, you will be helping these young people take the next step towards meaningful employment and a step away from social exclusion.
Speaking of their latest expansion, a spokesperson for Café incredABLE said: “With each cup of tea or coffee purchased, you will not only be making a difference to the lives of these exceptional individuals, but also their carers, guardians and/or family unit.
“And while it’s our fourth social enterprise café, it will be the first time we open a café in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area.
“incredABLE’s three other cafes are located in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area:
our flagship social enterprise Café incredABLE at South Lake, Café incredABLE at Banbridge Leisure Centre and Café incredABLE at Jethro (Lurgan).”
Samantha McCartney, incredABLE’s Head of Catering Operations, said: “We are very excited to be opening a Café incredABLE in Newry, our very first in this council area. We look forward to welcoming new customers to our social enterprise café and raising awareness about the work of incredABLE.
“Social enterprise cafes can make a huge contribution to their local area – our cafes exist to assist young people with a learning/intellectual disability and/or autism achieve their goal of meaningful employment. Not only does this improve their quality of life, but that of their families too.”
Samantha added: “We are extremely fortunate to have very dedicated staff who are passionate about assisting these young people on their journey to employment.
“Our social enterprise cafes pride themselves in providing a very high standard of customer service, food and beverages. Our Banbridge, Craigavon and Lurgan cafes have held five-star Food Hygiene Awards since opening their doors.
“Why not stop by our new café if you’re using the Leisure Centre or make plans to meet up with friends? We’d love to meet you all!”
