Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in his own home in Newry yesterday (Wednesday).
It happened at around 6.55pm when a man reportedly called to a house in the Iveagh Crescent area.
The man entered the property and assaulted the resident, striking him a number of times.
During the course of the incident, the victim sustained injuries to his head and body.
There were two other men standing outside the property during the assault.
The assailant is described as being approximately 5’ 10 in height with long dark hair and was wearing a face covering and a tracksuit.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquires to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 1362 of 11/09/24.
