Major new retail development to be built in between Buttercrane and Quays

Outlets advertised for let over two floors

Buttercrane

The search is on for tenants for a major retail development in Newry – sandwiched between the Buttercrane and Quays shopping centres.

The new build will provide for substantial retail opportunities over two floors.

It will be located on the northern side of Bridge Street, opening directly on to the access route between the Buttercrane and The Quays.

It will provide retail accommodation on two separate floors.

One unit – of almost 3,700 sq ft – is available at ground floor level.

A first floor outlet – in excess of 3,800 sq ft – is also available.

Both come with storage facilities and a lift access for first floor tenant.

The new development is already being advertised ‘to let’ and its location is central to those aspirations, described as being between the “two flagship shopping centres of Newry City” where “occupiers within the schemes include Debenhams, Sainsbury, Next, River Island, DV8, Primark, o2 etc”.

“The property benefits from its prominent position between the two major city shopping centres, benefiting from significant levels of passing footfall and vehicular traffic flow,” it adds.

It will be the latest boost for the area.

On Boxing Day, Buttercrane revealed an increase trade and teased of news of exciting net lettings within the centre itself, following on from Burger King and Superdrug.

Meanwhile, a major new Marks & Spencer and M&S Food Hall is also due to open adjacent to Debenhams at the Quays and just several hundred yards from this new outlet.

It is due to open within the coming months.
