Four taken to hospital after Newry collision

The two vehicle collision happened shortly before 6pm on Saturday evening

Four people were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Newry on Saturday evening.

And police are appealing for information following the collision on the Rathfriland Road.

It was reported that a silver coloured Seat Toledo and a gold Volkswagen Golf were in collision near the junction with the Glenvale Road at around 5.50pm.

Four people were taken to hospital following for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

The road was closed for a number of hours but has since re-opened.

An investigation into the collision is underway and officers would ask anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any dash-cam footage which could assist them with their enquiries to contact them at Ardmore station on 101 quoting reference number 1408 04/12/21.
