Firefighters are currently battling a major gorse fire in the Mournes this afternoon (Tuesday).
Police have closed the Rostrevor Road in Hilltown as colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service deal with gorse fires in the area.
Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes for their journey.
The fire service received a call shortly after 6.30am.
Six fire appliances are in attendance; two from Newry and one each from Rathfriland, Armagh, Lurgan and Kilkeel fire stations.
Firefighters are currently using beaters to tackle the fire and the incident is ongoing.
