Domino’s cooking up plans for new restaurant at Newry shopping centre

A major pizza chain is cooking up plans to open a new restaurant in Newry.

Armagh I can reveal that Victa DP Limited have this week submitted plans to open up a Dominos store at the Quays Shopping Centre.

Proposals were lodged with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council on Wednesday for the subdivision of Unit 1 in the retail park’s latest development, which currently houses Marks & Spencers and Pure Gym.

The applicant wants to subdivide the existing – and vacant – ground floor property to form Domino’s Pizza Outlet (Unit A) and separate Unit B.

If approved, the new store would provide up to 25+ jobs between employees in store and delivery drivers.

The premises will also seat up to 28 patrons at a time.

It is now up to Council planners to chew over the finer details before they give their decision later in the year.

There is already one Domino’s operating in Newry, on the Belfast Road, and it remains unclear if this latest application will affect the status.

Domino’s also operate stores in Armagh, Banbridge, Portadown and Lurgan.
