The Southern Area Hospice Services were delighted to once again join Hospice volunteer and event organiser, Deborah Kennedy as she organised her 31st Annual Towpath Walk which took place on Sunday, June 19.

The Hospice walk has always been a fun and enjoyable day which welcomes familiar and new faces across the Southern Trust Area and this year was no different.

This year’s walk saw approximately 100 walkers take to the Newry Towpath and walk six miles.

As a result of a fantastic turnout on the day and everyone’s terrific fundraising, Deborah and friends were able to present an outstanding cheque for £15,704.48 to the Hospice.

The Southern Area Hospice Services are extremely thankful to everyone that fundraised for this year’s Towpath Walk and to Deborah for her dedication and commitment to fundraising for her local Hospice over the past 31 years.

We can only care because people like you do, it really is that simple.
