Couple out walking dog have fireworks thrown at them, police believe

Police are keen to speak to a couple they belive had fireworks thrown at them and their dog on Tuesday evening.

The PSNI said they received reports that a car had been driving in the Monaghan Street area of Newry, with those in the car throwing fireworks out the window.

Officers cautioned the four occupants of the car and asked them to report to the police station at a later stage for interviews, with a report also sent to the Public Prosecution Service.

Fireworks were also seized from the car.

Police believe the couple and dog were targeted and wish to speak to them about the incident.
