Appeal for witnesses after burglary at popular coffee shop

Incident happened overnight on Wednesday, September 6

Police are appealing for witnesses after a popular coffee shop in Newry was burgled.

Witnesses or information is being sought following the burglary at Synge and Byrne coffee shop at Sugarhouse Quay in the city.

The incident happened sometime between late evening on Wednesday, September 6 and the morning of Thursday, September 7.

Anyone who has any information or notes anything suspicious in the area please contact non emergency number 101 quoting ref 179 7/9/17.

The coffee shop, which only opened last year, is one of many Synge and Byrne stores across Northern Ireland.

Brothers Damien and Adrian Garvey developed the brand back in 2013, opening their first three stores in Newtownabbey, Belfast and Derry/Londonderry.
